New Business Executive

Sodexo is seeking a dynamic New Business Executive - Retention to support
strategic account management for Universities, NorAm.

 

Candidates can be based in any US location within proximity to a major airport

(Midwest location highly preferred).

Travel is required for success in this role up to 70%.

 

The New Business Executive - Retention will be responsible for strategic account management, Universities. The successful candidate will provide guidance and leadership in a client-facing environment, providing analysis of operational barriers and risks. The New Business Executive - Retention will meet targets for business retention and growth while supporting the Client Life-Cycle Management process through on-site effectiveness review, management development, resource allocation and proactive planning.

Essential Functions of Position:

Strategic Account Management/Retention
  • Works proactively to protect and retain Strategic Accounts becoming the "voice of the client."
  • Develops Sodexo's business plan for each Strategic Account aligning with the client's strategic goals and objectives to ensure Sodexo is a valued and trusted business partner while positioned to keep the competition out, the business off the streets, and positions Sodexo in advance for a contract renewal.
  • Maintains proactive business relationships in pre-select Strategic Accounts with senior customer management.
  • Supports the development and administration of proactive risk assessment processes, utilizing early warning factors, to determine the accounts degree of risk.
  • Provides monthly risk assessments to Sales VP, RVP’s and DM’s, and works with the operations teams to develop retention strategies.
  • Evaluates current client for life information, and develops, with operations team, action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Supports the operations team in development of alternate contract models to better meet client needs and business objectives.

Re-Sell
  • Identifies opportunities for portfolio growth.
  • Oversees sales strategy and proposal process for account retention, sales and operational planning.
  • Coordinates resources to develop strategic business plans and proposals for proactive contract renewals.
  • Evaluates and analyzes financial data.
  • Responsible for coordination and production of contract document. Will determine and define with the operations team the contract execution processes.
  • Tracks all resale processes in the Oracle database and reviews with Vice President, Sales and Operations Planning during routine monthly funnel/retention review.

Skill-set needed for success:
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships internally and externally.
  • Background in Food Services and Account Management.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to understand customer strategic initiatives and build solutions that align with these initiatives.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects with ease.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • The ability to write client-facing documents including executive summaries and proposals.
  • Sales skills and the ability to influence others.

Position Summary
  • Investigates and analyses new business opportunities; develops and maintains positive business relationships with potential clients; builds both internal and external networks
  • Examines client needs to maximize business and/or solutions for business concerns; performs cost-benefits and needs analysis. Applies all Global Sales Academy/Selling the Sodexo Way behaviors and methods.
  • Develops and implements the business plan, budget and forecasts to achieve sales, market share, hit rate and market growth targets to attain overall financial goals
  • Leads the development of sales presentations, proposals, and assists in the development of contractual sales documents.
  • Researches growth strategies and competitor practices and strategies to evaluate and implement new strategies and complies with all CRM requirements.
  • Responsible for selling profitable new business and generating new revenue growth from the right clients under the right terms for Sodexo.  Secures and sustains continued business development opportunities for the Company.  Develops business solutions to improve client operations and reduce operating costs based on knowledge of organizational strengths and weaknesses, technological advances, external trends, competitors and customer needs. Upholds Company mission and values in addition to Quality of Life Offers as designated by the Segment.

 

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Functional Experience - 7 years
